When students arrive to check into their residence hall, they will follow the steps below:

Step-by-Step:

  1. Check-in at the checkpoint and confirm if you have done or have with you your vaccine verification, your negative COVID-19 test result from within 72 hours, or you plan to do COVID-19 testing on site. If you choose to do the test onsite, you will be routed to the Student Health tent to get your test and wait approximately 15 minutes to get your result and then you can proceed to step 2.
  2. Pull up to the designated unloading zone and have Move Crew help you unload your stuff. Go park your car or have your guest park it in the nearby parking lot.
  3. Head to the blue tent to verify your entry requirements and get your wristband for entry along with wristbands for any guests who are helping you. If you have not yet gotten an I-Card, head to the I-Card Office in the Memorial Union to get your picture taken and receive your card.
  4. For Lincoln and LLC residents, you will next go to your building front desk to swap out your old ID card for one that will allow you to do tap entry.
  5. Head to your floor where you will meet your RA who will give you your move-in packet.
  6. Unpack and start to make the room your own! Only use thumbtacks for hanging items.

Move Crew is a group of Washburn University faculty, staff, and students who volunteer their time and their muscle to help incoming students move into the halls. We have asked all Move Crew volunteers to only help when asked and to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer in between each student who they help move. Additionally, the carts and dollies will be frequently cleaned and disinfected. These are difficult times and you will not hurt anyone’s feelings if you forego Move Crew assistance, because more than just wanting to be here to help move boxes, they are here to Welcome Students!
