SJ#2210: "Skitterish Critters"

Black-Footed Ferret
A Black-Footed Ferret in western Kansas

In this program, we'll learn about what happened to an imported species of lizard after it found its way out of a Topeka pet shop; find out why the Black-Footed Ferrets have been released on the western Kansas Prairie; and meet Melody Weller, a woman who takes care of injured wildlife.

KTWU/Channel 11, public television serving eastern Kansas and northwest Missouri, premieres a new season of Sunflower Journeys each year. The program airs statewide on Kansas public television stations. Following a magazine-style format, Sunflower Journeys serves as a unique vehicle for viewers to learn about and appreciate the diverse culture, heritage and history of Kansas.

The production of the 2009 season of Sunflower Journeys has been made possible with support from the Kansas Humanities Council, Footprints of Lawrence, the Blanche Bryden Foundation, the Raymond C. and Marguerite Gibson Foundation, and Kansas Travel & Tourism, Hallmark Cards The Friends of KTWU
