SJ#2208: "National Spotlight"

Intergenerational Learning
Jim Lehrer in his NewsHour office in Alexandra, VA

In this program, we'll see how Kansas was connected to the influenza pandemic that swept the world nine decades ago; explore President Obama's family ties to the Sunflower State, and see what life's like for Jim Lehrer when he's not on camera at the NewHour.

KTWU/Channel 11, public television serving eastern Kansas and northwest Missouri, premieres a new season of Sunflower Journeys each year. The program airs statewide on Kansas public television stations. Following a magazine-style format, Sunflower Journeys serves as a unique vehicle for viewers to learn about and appreciate the diverse culture, heritage and history of Kansas.

The production of the 2009 season of Sunflower Journeys has been made possible with support from the Kansas Humanities Council, Footprints of Lawrence, the Blanche Bryden Foundation, the Raymond C. and Marguerite Gibson Foundation, Kansas Travel & Tourism, Hallmark Cards, and The Friends of KTWU
