SJ#2201: "Storytelling & Filmmaking"

Making videos in Kansas National Park Sites
Making videos in Kansas National Park Sites

In this program, we'll travel to the National Park Sites in Kansas with some award-winning middle-school students; explore the impact of digital technology and the internet on education and interpersonal communication; and follow some local filmmakers as they produce a video for the Wild West Film Fest in Lawrence, Kansas.

KTWU/Channel 11, public television serving eastern Kansas and northwest Missouri, premieres a new season of Sunflower Journeys each year. The program airs statewide on Kansas public television stations. Following a magazine-style format, Sunflower Journeys serves as a unique vehicle for viewers to learn about and appreciate the diverse culture, heritage and history of Kansas.

The production of the 2009 season of Sunflower Journeys has been made possible with support from the Kansas Humanities Council, Footprints of Lawrence, the Blanche Bryden Foundation, the Raymond C. and Marguerite Gibson Foundation, and Kansas Travel & Tourism, Hallmark Cards The Friends of KTWU
